Sierra Interactive - Tasks vs Events

Our Sierra Interactive tasks integration has proven to be popular amongst our agents. One request we strongly heard is that Sierra's task-based system is too limited to schedule all the different types of activities that an agent needs to track.

Instead of just tasks, which have no defined to-do time and no set duration, we've heard that teams want 'events'. A specific to-do on the calendar, but one at a specific time and with a specific duration. It makes sense for a lot of things - a phone call that is scheduled, a listing appointment, a custom email that needs to be sent at just the right time. There's a lot of use cases and, fortunately, Realty Hook now supports your needs.

Introducing Google Calendar Events for Sierra Interactive

Creating a Google event in Sierra Interactive is incredibly simple. Just create a task like you normally would, but on the 2nd line of the description, add a duration - 1 hour, 30 minutes, 45 mins, you name it! Once Realty Hook pulls the task in, instead of adding it to your task list, an event is going to be added to your calendar. Even better, if you add a 3rd line, that will be the description and notes for the event.

Once enabled, adding a Google Calendar event looks like this: Google Calendar event for Sierra Interactive

2-Way Sync Between Google Calendar and Sierra Interactive

As with all of our features, there is a full 2-way sync between the events. That means that if you drag-and-drop the event on your Calendar to another time or day, change the start or end time, or even update the name of the task, the task in Sierra Interactive will be updated as well! Of course, if you update Sierra Interactive, the Google Calendar event will update too.

Power Up Your Team

If the TC on your team creates a task in Sierra Interactive and assigns it to an agent on your team, it will show up on that agent's calendar. No questions or worries about how your events will be seen, improving your team-communication in real-time.

Also, when working as a team, the 2-way sync is critical. If a closing company calls your transaction coordinator to change a closing time, your TC simply needs to update the closing task in one place and you'll be on top of it. With Google Calendar, if you share your calendar with your team, this visibility and ease of updates can make or break your collaboration and streamline everyone's workflow.
